Prior to becoming an English teacher, high school literary magazine adviser, and consultant for the Northern Virginia Writing Project, Michele Evans studied English Language and Literature at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts; King’s College in London, England; and the Graduate School at the University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. Despite always wearing the color black, this fifth-generation Washingtonian (D.C.) is fond of blueberries, blue hydrangeas, blues musicians, and Blue Mountain coffee. purl, her debut collection of poetry, is forthcoming from Finishing Line Press in 2025.
